Taste for Life (Zi Jin Tang) was founded in 2005 to provide quality confinement meal plans which suits the modern lifestyles and demands of new mothers. Our team of professionals with expertise in nursing, medicine, and nutrition work with award-winning chefs to conceptualise delicious meals which optimise recovery. Over the years, we have also developed confinement tools, meals for miscarriage, and meals for menstrual care.

We strictly monitor each step of our production process, from testing every batch of ingredients to bringing in advanced technology to retain nutritional content.

Our Team

The products are specially developed by professional team in Taste for Life (Zi Jin Tang) Taiwan. The team consist of Chinese and Western medical professionals, Chefs and Nutritionist.

Medical Professionals – To provide professional knowledge and insights to the proper steps and methods for confinement.

Chefs – Taste in confinement meals are pivotal to ensure consistency for a healthy and nutritious confinement period.

Nutritionist – To provide a balanced mix of various ingredients used for the soup bases so as to acquire the best nutrients are essential for confinement.

Choosing suppliers with certified ingredients

Annual assessment of suppliers to obtain regular inspection reports. We conduct
monthly inventory checks to verify the quality of our raw materials and their
shelf life.

Rigorous inspection of ingredients

Our quality assurance personnel inspect ingredients’ biological, physical, and
chemical properties to perform hazard analysis.

In-depth detection of biological and chemical hazards

We detect biological hazards such as mold, E. coli, bacteria and other microorganisms as well as chemical hazards such as antibiotics to ensure food safety. We engage third-parties to conduct regular inspections to supplement our analysis.

Compliance with good hygiene practices

Ingredients and equipment are segmented to avoid cross-contamination. We observe high standards of hygiene and food preparation quality.

Standard operating cooking methods to ensure food taste, quality, and consistency

All chefs in our central kitchen have chef licenses and both Chinese and Western culinary certificates. Cooking process is double-checked by chefs and quality assurance personnel to ensure the quality of the meal.

Meal samples retained for further inspection

Every product goes through meal packaging according to rules of HACCP and GHP, so that product traceability can be established. In addition, daily microbiological testing is also conducted to ensure food safety.

High Pressure Processing Methods (HPP)

Taste for Life (Zi Jin Tang) uses the high pressure processing method to retain the nutrients, flavour, and colour of food without artificial preservatives, colouring, or flavouring. This technology holds pressure for 48 hours by the ultra-high pressure at a temperature below 50 ℃, which reduces protein denaturation and loss of nutrients caused by high temperature.

This technique is known as “one of the ten cutting-edge technology in twenty-first century”, and is recognized by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). It is an increasingly popular technology in Singapore, especially among health food brands. Thus, mothers can rest assured that our meals are safe to consume and nutritious.
